About Chef Pete Coleman

With beginnings in the Deep South and more than 30 years spent cooking in Napa Valley, my culinary path is now coming full circle as I expand my private chef and catering work to the East Coast, with a focus on South Carolina’s Lowcountry, Beaufort, Hilton Head, and the surrounding coastal communities, including Charleston.
As an early practitioner of the Wine Country farm-to-table movement, I built my cooking around seasonal ingredients, local growers, regional character, and southern hospitality long before those ideas became industry buzzwords. I’m now bringing that same spirit to the Lowcountry, working with a new East Coast team to create menus shaped by coastal ingredients, Southern traditions, and a true sense of place.
In Wine Country, Kevin Collins, my sous chef of 30 years, and our trusted team remain fully intact and active, continuing the work we’ve built together over decades.
We are refocusing toward more personal, highly curated events, with an emphasis on private cheffing, intimate celebrations, and gatherings of up to 90 guests.
From private dinners to regional menus designed around a specific place and season, the goal remains the same on both coasts: food that feels personal, generous, thoughtful, and memorable.
